For your applications to the Google PhD Fellowship Program 2020 are now open. The Google PhD Fellowship Program was create to recognize excellent students, doing exceptional work in computer science.

Google PhD Fellowships program directly supporting the graduate as they hunt for their PhD, they will connect them to a Google Research Mentor. It offer Fellowships in Australia, China and East Asia, Europe, Africa, India, USA and Canada.

Benefits

For candidate to receive Fellowships which include a monetary award. Those fund given to the university to issue the cover of the student’s expenses appropriate. The funds are given as an unlimited gift, and if Google’s policy do not pay for unconditional gifts. Meanwhile, in addition of the student will match with a Google Research Mentor who they all hope for to become a valuable resource to the student.

There is no worker relationship between the student and Google as a result of receiving the fellowship. Fellowship receiver is not subject to abstract property unless they will complete the internship at Google. Fellowship recipients helping an internship are subject to the same intellectual possession and other constitutional obligations to Google novice. If a Fellowship student is interested, an internship at Google is inspired, but not required.

Africa

  • Up to 3 year Fellowship
  • US $30K to cover stipend and other research related activities, travel expenses including overseas travel
  • Google Research Mentor
  • Must be from Africa

Australia

  • 1 year Fellowship
  • AUD $10K to cover stipend and other research related activities, travel expenses including overseas travel
  • Google Research Mentor
  • Must be residing in any part in Australia

China and East Asia (Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan)

  • 1 year Fellowship
  • US $10K to cover stipend and other research related activities, travel expenses including overseas travel
  • Google Research Mentor
  • Can be from Korea, South Korea, Japan etc

Europe

  • Up to 3 year Fellowship
  • Yearly bursary towards stipend / salary, health care, social benefits, tuition and fees, conference travel and personal computing equipment.
  • The bursary varies by country.
  • Must be a citizen from Europe
  • Google Research Mentor

India

  • Up to 4 year Fellowship
  • US $50K to cover stipend and other research related activities.
  • And must have the money to travel including overseas travel
  • Google Research Mentor

United States and Canada

  • 2 year Fellowship with opportunity to extend to 3rd year
  • Full tuition and fees (enrollment fees, health insurance, books)
  • Plus a stipend to be used for living expenses, travel and personal equipment
  • Google Research Mentor

Google PhD Fellowship Program Scholarship Necessity

Eligibility

Universities will only recommended students that meet the following requirements:

  • Full-time graduate students pursuing a PhD.
  • US/students should be at least 3rd year of a PhD program by the descend semester of the year when the Fellowship begins. The submitting university must be asked to confirm the student’s PhD program start date.
  • European students must be in at least their 2nd year of a PhD program with the same rules above.
  • The receiver will be active, full-time student in a PhD program during at least two academic years of the award .
  • Google employees, and their spouses, children, and members of their household are not eligible.
  • Students that are already carried by a similar industry award are not eligible.

Application Procedure:

To apply for this scholarship, you must follow the steps:

  1. Application submissions must be provided directly by an official representative of the university.
  2. Enrolled in engaging in the university and nominated by that university.
  3. Applications are open to students in Computer Science.
  4. The Google North America and Europe PhD Fellowship program application window is now open until November 30th at 11:59:59 PM PST.
  5. Grant of the Google Fellowship will be subject to the rules in the institute/university where the awardee registers for the PhD program.
